Vivek Murthy, MD, MBA

Founder and Chairman

Vivek is an attending physician at Brigham and Women's Hospital and an instructor at Harvard Medical School. Vivek is also president and co-founder of Doctors for America, a national grassroots physicians organization that advocates for a high quality, affordable health care system for all Americans. In 2011, Vivek was appointed by President Obama to the Advisory Group on Prevention, Health Promotion, and Integrative and Public Health. His past research has focused on the participation of women and minorities in cancer clinical trials, and his writings and research have been published in Science, Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), Journal of the National Cancer Institute, and The Washington Post.

Vivek founded TrialNetworks based on the conviction that modern web technology could enhance collaboration between researchers and accelerate discovery.

Prior to starting TrialNetworks, Vivek co-founded VISIONS, a non-profit focused on HIV/AIDS youth education in the U.S. and India. He also co-founded Swasthya, a community health partnership in rural India.

Vivek received his BA in biochemical sciences from Harvard University, his MD from the Yale School of Medicine, his MBA from the Yale School of Management, and his residency training in internal medicine from Brigham and Women's Hospital.

Eric Silberstein

Eric passionately believes that technology can and must radically enhance clinical trial operations to ensure a steady stream of innovations addressing major health challenges. His work on over 15 trials and his background in technology and online collaboration have fueled the vision behind TrialNetworks.

Prior to TrialNetworks, Eric was founder and Chairman of Idiom Technologies (acquired by SDL). Idiom’s technology, used by Fortune 500 companies including five of the top ten web companies, enables global teams to efficiently collaborate on multilingual translation.

Eric holds a BA in computer science from Harvard University and is one of the original winners of the MIT TR100 prize. Eric lives in Newton, Massachusetts with his wife Frances and their two children.

Ezra Freedman

As CTO of TrialNetworks, Ezra is responsible for development and operation of the TrialNetworks platform. Years of work on clinical trial and other pharma applications have embedded a deep respect for bio-pharma requirements around security, auditability, reliability, and intuitive user interfaces.

Prior to TrialNetworks, Ezra was VP of Technology for Schematic (acquired by WPP), a Los Angeles-based interactive agency that develops interface and technology solutions for the web, television and mobile devices.

Ezra holds a BA in mathematics from Columbia University. He lives in Roslindale, Massachusetts with his wife Ali and daughter Talia.

Cameron Snider

Cameron has spent his career in North America and Europe working with pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Cameron is an expert on helping teams adopt social networking technology.

Prior to TrialNetworks, Cameron was VP Client Strategy at Imaginatik, a leading provider of innovation software.

Cameron holds a BA in International Business from Wittenberg University. Outside of work Cameron enjoys coaching soccer and skiing with his wife Annegien and their two children.

Bryan Farrow, MA

Director, Community Engagement

Bryan is responsible for creating TrialNetworks content that engages and educates study members spread across the globe, and for incorporating trial site feedback into network enhancements. Prior to joining TrialNetworks, he spent six years at Children’s Hospital Boston, helping physician-scientists communicate their expertise and passion to referring clinicians and families. This role strengthened his own interest in championing the clinical applications of the biosciences.

Bryan holds a BA in English and Philosophy from Dartmouth College and an MA in English from the University of Virginia. He lives in Malden, Massachusetts with his wife and young daughter.

Sofya Somin

Director, Quality

Sofya is responsible for our quality systems. Sofya is passionate about software quality and validation methods. She has an extensive background in software validation, quality management, regulatory compliance auditing, software development, and project management. As a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt she is dedicated to scalable validation approach, process streamlining, and quality management.

Prior to TrialNetworks, Sofya was Director of Software Quality Assurance and Validation at Perceptive Informatics, a PAREXEL Company. She was also a member of Software Quality Engineering department at Boston Scientific and worked as a Software Validation Consultant at Philips Healthcare and Bristol Myers Squibb.

Sofya holds MS in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from Saint Petersburg University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics in St. Petersburg, Russia. Sofya has two grown sons and lives in Lexington, Massachusetts with her husband Yefim.
